BlackBerry Contacts or Calendar fail to sync

From CompanionLink Support
Jump to: navigation, search

Symptoms:
When the conduit/table is missing from BlackBerry Desktop Software. i.e. when "calendar" or "calendar - all" is missing from the list in BBDS.
Error "Table name Address Book not found." or "Table name Calendar not found."

Cause:
If the conduit/table is not present, CompanionLink cannot sync to it.
Different applications can corrupt the databases on the BlackBerry or change them to different default databases. These will prevent the sync from happening properly to the device.

Solutions:
For missing contacts, please follow the steps below:

1. Check to see if some other app has changed the default addressbook in BB: a) On the BlackBerry, go to Options -> Device -> Advanced System Settings -> Default Services. b) Look at which addressbook is selected. If an addressbook other than the core OS one is selected (e.g. Facebook), try changing back to the core OS addressbook.

2. If step 1 fails, check to see if the BlackBerry addressbook module is present in the device applications. a) Connect the BlackBerry to the PC using the USB cable. b) In BBDS, click Applications. c) Highlight "BlackBerry Core Applications" then click the "i" button to open the Application Properties window. d) Go to the Modules tab. e) Check to see if "net_rim_bb_addressbook_app" appears in the list.

For missing calendar records, please follow the steps below:

1. Check to see if some other app has changed the default calendar in BB: a) On the BlackBerry, go to Options -> Device -> Advanced System Settings -> Default Services. b) Look at which calendar is selected. If a calendar other than the core OS one is selected (e.g. Facebook), try changing back to the core OS calendar.

If step 1 fails, check to see if the BlackBerry calendar module is present in the device applications. a) Connect the BlackBerry to the PC using the USB cable. b) In BBDS, click Applications. c) Highlight "BlackBerry Core Applications" then click the "i" button to open the Application Properties window. d) Go to the Modules tab. e) Check to see if "net_rim_bb_calendar_app" appears in the list.
