Preliminary iPhone Configuration Checklist

Before you begin synchronizing your iPhone or iPad with CompanionLink, please make sure you have completed the following pre-setup instructions.

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer and complete the one time Setup/Device Registration process in iTunes.

This requires connecting your iPhone to iTunes on the computer desktop. Follow the prompts to register your iPhone. Follow all of the registration instructions included with your iPhone documentation.

2. Make sure you have the latest iOS Software on your iPhone.

3. Disable Auto/Sync in iTunes.

After initial iTunes Device Connection/Setup:

- In iTunes select Edit>Preferences>Devices.

- Check the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" box. Then, Click OK.

Note! In iTunes 10.x, the highlighted option will NOT display if you have never attached an iPhone, iPod, or iPad. You must first connect a device in order to modify this setting.

4. Disable Calendars, and Contact sync in iTunes.

Uncheck the boxes labeled "Sync Contacts/Calendar with Outlook" so that iTunes sync does not conflict with CompanionLink.

5. If you are connecting to an Exchange Server or MobileMe for email:

Verify you have disabled the contact and/or calendar sync in the account setup area on the iPhone. Any sync function the user is syncing with CompanionLink should be turned off in MobileMe and/ or in the Exchange account setup on the iPhone.

6. Verify you can successfully connect to the internet via Wi-Fi.

-Launch Safari > Navigate to a website that is not saved in bookmarks or history.

-Send or receive a test email is another good test.

Once you have completed the above steps, proceed to CompanionLink's iPhone/Ipad Setup Guide
