How to Uninstall CompanionLink Products

CompanionLink version 3 and 4

  1. Close all CompanionLink windows. If you have a CompanionLink icon in the system tray area of the Windows desktop, right click on it and choose Exit.
    • Device Specific Operations
    1. If you are synching a Palm operating system handheld:
      • Open CompanionLink Setup.
      • Click on the File menu.
      • Choose Reset Palm HotSync Settings.
    2. In you are syncing a Windows Mobile 5.X or 6.X device
      • On Windows XP
      1. Open Microsoft ActiveSync.
      2. Disconnect your handheld.
      3. Click on File and choose either Delete Partnership or Delete Mobile Device, depending on which option you have. Repeat this until this option is gone or greyed out.
      4. On your handheld, go to Start, then Settings, System and open Remove Programs. Highlight the CompanionLink software in the list and remove this.
      5. Soft-reset your handheld.
      • On Windows Vista and Seven
      1. Disconnect the device from the PC
      2. Open Windows Mobile Device Center
      3. Go to Mobile Device Settings
      4. Choose End Partnership
    3. If you are using the CompanionLink Secure Hosted Sync Service
      • For CL version 3
      1. Open CompanionLink Setup.
      2. Click on Settings, then click Next until you get to the handheld PDA selection screen.
      3. Click on Configure.
      4. Click on Payment Info.
      5. Click on Cancel Subscription.
      • For CL Version 4
      1. Open CompanionLink Setup
      2. Go to the sync target settings
      3. Click on Payment Info.
      4. Click on Cancel Subscription.
  2. Uninstall the program. There are specific instructions for your operating system.
    • Windows XP

    • Windows Vista and Windows Seven

  3. If these folders exist, delete them:
    • c:\Program Files\CompanionLink
    • c:\Program Files (x86)\CompanionLink
    • Windows XP: c:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\CompanionLink
    • Windows Vista and Windows Seven: c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\CompanionLink

DoubleLook 3.0

  1. Right-click the DoubleLook icon in the lower righthand corner of the computer desktop by the time and choose Exit.
  2. Uninstall the program. There are specific instructions for your operating system.
    • Windows XP

    • Windows Vista and Windows Seven

  3. If these folders exist, delete them:
    • c:\Program Files\CompanionLink
    • c:\Program Files\DoubleLook\
    • c:\Program Files (x86)\CompanionLink
    • Windows XP: c:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\CompanionLink AND c:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\CompanionLink\DoubleLook
    • Windows Vista and Windows Seven: c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\CompanionLink AND c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\CompanionLink\DoubleLook\

DoubleNotes 3.0

  1. Right-click the DoubleNotes icon in the lower righthand corner of the computer desktop by the time and choose Exit.
