How to Sync from DejaOffice to Phone Contacts and Calendar on Android and iPhone

Using the DejaOffice app gives you the best way to use your data as it supports more fields, sorting, grouping and searching than the default Contacts or Calendar app of any mobile phone Apple or Android. Some functions such as Caller ID, Text Message ID and Call History only work correctly if there is a copy of the DejaOffice Contacts in the Default Contacts app. While DejaOffice supports a sync to the Default Calendar app, we do not recommend this as it can slow down the sync.

Enable Sync Between DejaOffice and the Android Applications

To turn on the synchronization between DejaOffice and the Android contact or calendar applications:

Sync with Android Contacts

  1. Open DejaOffice.
  2. Tap Settings and Tap Sync Settings.
  3. Tap the Sync with Android Contacts App option to Enable the "Native" Contact Sync.

Sync with Android Calendar

  1. Open DejaOffice.
  2. Tap Settings and Tap Sync Settings.
  3. Tap the Sync with Android Calendar App option to Enable the "Native" Calendar Sync.
  • Note: While DejaOffice supports a sync to the Android Calendar App, we do not recommend this as it can slow down the sync.
  • Note: The Native Calendar app can have issues supporting larger data sets.

Selecting an Android Native Account

Contacts and calendar data can be stored under one of many "accounts" in the native Android contacts and calendar apps. The default account is DejaOffice, it is not recommended to change this.

  1. Open DejaOffice, Tap Settings, and Tap Sync Settings.
  2. Tap the Contact Account below the Sync with Android Contacts App or Calendar Account Sync with Android Calendar App.
  • Note: When uninstalling the DejaOffice app, all contacts and calendar events associated with the DejaOffice native account will be removed from native Android contacts/calendar apps.

Clear and Reload the Android Contacts and Calendar

If the DejaOffice Contacts and Calendar have the best set of data and you want to Reload this cleanly to the "Native" Android Contacts and Calendar Apps, use these steps:

Reload Android Contacts:

  1. Open DejaOffice.
  2. Tap Settings and Tap Sync Settings.
  3. Under "Sync with Android Contacts App" tap the "Clear and Reload Android Contacts" to reload the Android Contacts.
  • Note: The Sync with Android Contacts App option must be enabled to use the above options.

Reload Android Calendar:

  1. Open DejaOffice.
  2. Tap Settings and Tap Sync Settings.
  3. Tap "Clear and Reload Android Calendar" under "Sync with Android Calendar App" to reload the Android Calendar.
  • Note: The Sync with Android Calendar App option must be enabled to use the above options.

Enable Native Sync in DejaOffice for iPhone/iPad

To turn on the synchronization between DejaOffice and the Apple contact or calendar applications:

  1. Open DejaOffice
  2. Tap Settings and Tap Sync Settings
  3. Tap the Sync with Apple Contacts or Sync with Apple Calendar option to Enable the "Native" Sync.
  • Note: While DejaOffice supports a sync to the Apple Calendar App, we do not recommend this as it can slow down the sync.
  • Note: The Native Contacts\Calendar app can have issues supporting larger data sets.

Selecting an Apple Native Account

The Apple contact and calendar applications allow you to have multiple accounts - some that can synchronize to and from the DejaOffice. DejaOffice has to pick one of these to read & synchronize to.

  1. Open DejaOffice
  2. Tap Settings and Tap Sync Settings
  3. Tap the Sync Settings below the "Sync with Apple Contacts" or "Sync with Apple Calendar" option
  4. Select the Apple Contacts Account to select the contact account to sync with or Default Apple Calendar to select the calendar account to sync with.

DejaOffice will only sync with a single native account. The local "On my iPhone" account is the default, and is recommended. If you do not see an "On my iPhone" account option it means you have another Contact\Calendar sync service such as iCloud, Exchange, or Google connected in the Apple Account Settings.

DejaOffice Shortcuts Widget

If you are on iOS 14 or higher you have access to the Shortcut Widget. This will directly open DejaOffice Contacts, Calendar, Tasks or Notes from the Apple Home Screen. To add the widget:

  1. On the iPhone/iPad Home Screen, tap and hold in an empty spot.
  2. When the apps start shaking tap the + in the top left.
  3. From the list select DejaOffice, find the Launcher option and tap Add Widget at the bottom.

This will give you quicker access to the data in DejaOffice.
