Request a New Google OAuth Token

When using Google as your sync method CompanionLink signs into the Google Account using an "OAuth Token". Occasionally these tokens will expire. To get a new OAuth Token use the following steps:

Obtain a New Google OAuth Token

  1. Open CompanionLink on your PC (Use the Setup Shortcut).
  2. Select Settings on the left (If you are using CompanionLink for Google, skip step 3).
  3. Select Setting on the right under Google.
  4. Click the "Request New OAuth Token" button.


Follow the prompts that appear to sign into your Google Account. If you directly see the "Allow Access" prompt, in the top right be sure you are signed into the correct Google Account for syncing. You will need to enable all 6 permissions.












Obtain a Manual Google OAuth Token (Deprecated as of October 2022)

If you are unable to Automatically obtain a new OAuth Token for Google sync, use the following steps to manually acquire the token (CompanionLink 7 and above only).

  1. Open CompanionLink on your PC (Use the Setup Shortcut).
  2. Select Settings on the left (If you are using CompanionLink for Google, skip step 3).
  3. Select Setting on the right under Google.
  4. Select the "Click here to launch the Manual OAuth Process. (You might need to close the first popup).
  5. Click the "Manual OAuth Box" and follow the prompts to sign into Google.
  6. When you see the long OAuth token, click the "Copy" icon next to it, close the Browser window and paste the Token into the "Step 2" box.
  7. Click Verify Token.


As long as the result is a Success, you are all set.

  • Note: If you directly see the "Allow Access" prompt at step 5, in the top right be sure you are signed into the correct Google Account for syncing.
