MFC Application Error

Explanation:

An MFC error means that something happened that was not anticipated by the program. This may be caused by various things, such as checking the version of CompanionLink during a sync, bugs in the software, or bugs in programs our software is trying to access.

Fix:

This error message is commonly caused by launching CompanionLink using the "CompanionLink Synchronize" shortcut instead of the "CompanionLink Setup" shortcut. If you see two CompanionLink icons on your desktop or start menu, please use "CompanionLink Setup".

Please also visit our update page and ensure you are using the latest version of the software.

If that does not resolve your issue, please contact Tech Support. Before you contact them please make sure that you have the below information ready so that we can get you a resolution faster.

  1. Please know the Operating System that you are PC is using i.e Windows XP, Vista, or 7. Also please be sure to mention if you are using a Mac running windows.
  2. The version of your PC database i.e. ACT! 2011, Palm Desktop 6, Outlook 2010, etc.
  3. When specifically are you getting this message for example "As soon as the contact sync finishes I get the MFC error."
  4. Please make sure that you have an up to date backup of your PC database. You can find instructions on how to backup your database here.
