How To Display All Files
Note: This procedure is meant to be performed with Windows Explorer or another Windows folder open. To open Windows Explorer, go to the Start menu, choose Run, type "explorer" and click OK.
If you are using Windows 95 or 98:
- From the View menu, choose Folder Options.
- The Folder Options menu will open.
- Select the View tab.
- Find the section that says Hidden Files and select the option for Show All Files.
- Immediately below this is a checkbox for Hide File Extensions For Known File Types. This box must be unchecked.
- Click Apply and OK. All files should be displayed now.
If you are using Windows ME, 2000 or XP:
- From the Tools menu, choose Folder Options.
- The Folder Options menu will open.
- Select the View tab.
- Find the section that says Hidden Files And Folders and select the option for Show Hidden Files And Folders.
- Immediately below this is a checkbox for Hide File Extensions For Known File Types. This box must be unchecked.
- Click Apply and OK. All files should be displayed now.
