On your old PC:

3. Locate your Palm Desktop data folder:

Windows XP location: C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows username]\My Documents\Palm OS Desktop
Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 location: C:\Users\[Windows username]\Documents\Palm OS Desktop

4. Within this folder, locate these two items:

  • The users.dat file
  • A folder whose name is some variation of your Palm username (e.g. the folder might be named "SmithJ" for Palm user "James Smith").

5. Copy both items to a removable drive or a network location that's accessible to your new computer.

On your new PC:

6. Place the users.dat file and the folder you found in step 4 into the Palm Desktop data folder on your new computer:

C:\Users\[Windows username]\Documents\Palm OS Desktop

7. Open Palm Desktop. Check to see that your data shows Ok. Be sure to check Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes.
