How to Fix Sleep Issues for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth using Android App Power Management

If you have recently switched to a new Android device, the latest Android OS utilizes a new battery settings which "optimizes" your power consumption and can interfere with your DejaOffice connection when using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

If you are receiving "Connection to DejaOffice Was Lost" during sync, try turning off the "Put Unused Apps to Sleep" option in the Android Battery options using the following steps. For Other Wifi sync issues Click Here for the main Wi-Fi Troubleshooting guide.

Android OS 12 and OS 13

Samsung Devices:

  1. Open Android Settings > Tap "Apps" > and select "DejaOffice".
  2. Tap "Battery" or "App Battery Usage".
  3. Change the option to "Unrestricted".













Android OS 11

Samsung Devices:

  1. Open Android Settings, Tap "Battery and Device Care", and select "Battery".
  2. Tap "Background Usage Limits" and then "Never Sleeping Apps".
  3. Tap the "+" in the top right, select DejaOffice from the apps list and tap "Add".


One Plus Devices:

  1. Open Android Setting > Tap Apps & Notifications.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Special app access.
  3. Tap on Battery optimization.
  4. Tap DejaOffice and then choose Don't Optimize.


Nexus Devices:

  1. Open Android Settings > Tap Apps and Notifications.
  2. Select DejaOffice > Advanced > Battery > All Apps.
  3. Select DejaOffice and ensure it is set to "Don't optimize".




Android OS 10

  1. Open Android Settings > Tap "Device Care" > and select "Battery".
  2. Tap the "App Power Management" option and tap "Apps that won't be put to sleep". Tap "Add Apps".
  3. Choose DejaOffice from the apps list and tap "Add".


Note: This setting should not cause any issue with USB. It could effect Auto Sync if the App is being closed by the battery Monitor.











Android OS 9

  1. Open Android Settings > Tap "Device Care" > and select "Battery".
  2. In the list of Apps under "Usage by Apps", select DejaOffice and ensure "Put app to sleep" is not enabled.


If you are still having connection issues, try turning off the "Put unused apps to sleep":

  1. Open Android Settings > Tap "Device Care" > and select "Battery".
  2. Tap the 3 dots in the top right of the battery menu and select Settings.
  3. Disable the "Put unused apps to sleep" option.


Note: This setting should not cause any issue with USB. It could effect Auto Sync if the App is being closed by the battery Monitor.











Android OS 8.1 and lower

  1. Open Android Settings > Tap "Device maintenance" > Tap "Battery".
  2. Tap "Unmonitored Apps" > Tap "Add apps" and select DejaOffice from the apps list.


Note: This setting should not cause any issue with USB or DejaCloud syncs.
