How To Backup A Database

ACT!:
Click on the File menu and choose Save As. Or, click on the File menu and choose Backup.

GoldMine:
Create a database and populate from current.

Outlook:
Create a sub-folder and use Copy and Paste to copy the files to this folder. Or, copy all .pst files (local folders) and all .ost files (Exchange folders) on the C: drive to a /save folder.

Palm Desktop:
Export the data. Go to the View menu and make sure that Show Private Records is selected. Go to the area you want to export, such the Address Book, and click on File and Export. Make sure that the range is set to all records. You will need to do this for each area of Palm Desktop that you wish to backup.
