How To Sync With Outlook Exchange Folders

CompanionLink and DoubleLook have the capability to synchronize with folders on an Outlook Exchange server. However, this capability cannot be used in conjunction with a Pocket PC handheld. This is because CompanionLink uses, not replaces, the Microsoft ActiveSync synchronization and ActiveSync requires you to synchronize to the default local folders of Outlook.

To configure CompanionLink:

1. Open CompanionLink Setup.
2. Click on Settings. If you see the user profile screen, click Next.
3. Click on Next and Configure.
4. Click on the Outlook Folders tab. This tab will take a while to come up as, when you click on it for the first time, it must read all of the folders on your Exchange server. Do NOT click Cancel.
5. Select the correct folders from the drop-down menus.
6. If you would like to also synchronize with the subfolders of these folders, put a checkmark next to the option to sync subfolders.
7. Click Apply, OK, Next and Finish.

Note: It is also possible to set CompanionLink to use Outlook as the handheld. In this case, you would find the Outlook folders configuration by clicking Configure instead of Next on step 3.

To configure DoubleLook:

1. Right-click the DoubleLook icon in the lower righthand corner of the computer screen by the time and choose DoubleLook Setup.
2. Click on Next and Configure.
3. Click on the Outlook Folders tab. This tab will take a while to come up as, when you click on it for the first time, it must read all of the folders on your Exchange server. Do NOT click Cancel.
4. Select the correct folders from the drop-down menus.
5. If you would like to also synchronize with the subfolders of these folders, put a checkmark next to the option to sync subfolders.
6. Click Apply, OK, Next and Finish.
