When opening CompanionLink for the first time on Mac OS X, some customers will get a message: "CompanionLink.app can't open because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store." If this message appears, you will need to approve CompanionLink to be installed in the Security & Privacy settings.
Setting Security & Privacy
1. Open System Preferences
2. Select Security & Privacy
3. Select "Open Anyway", for CompanionLink.app
Note: If you do not have the option for Open Anyway; you can also simply change the option Allow Apps Downloaded From to "Anywhere". You can change the settings back once CompanionLink opens.
4. Select "Open"
