Google 2-Step Verification
Google now offers an optional security feature called 2-Step Verification. If this feature is enabled for your account you will have to create an application specific password to re-enable CompanionLink sync with Google.
Creating an application specific password
- Log into your Gmail account
- Click on the gear icon to the right of the screen and select settings
- Click Accounts and then Other Google Account Settings
- Click Security on the top bar
- Next to 2-Step Verification click Settings
- If prompted please enter your Google password and click Sign In
- On the 2-Step Verification Settings page click App-Specific Passwords
- Click Manage Application Specific Passwords
- Enter your password and sign in again
- In the Name field enter CompanionLink and click Generate Password
Changing the Password in CompanionLink
- Open CompanionLink
- Click on Settings
- Click Settings again under the section that says Sync with Google
- Enter the generated password into the password field
- Click OK to resume syncing
