<h2>Google 2-Step Verification</h2>

<p>Google now offers an optional security feature called 2-Step Verification. If this feature is enabled for your account you will have to create an application specific password to re-enable CompanionLink sync with Google.

<h3>Creating an application specific password</h3>

#Log into your Gmail account
#Click on the gear icon to the right of the screen and select settings
#Click ''Accounts'' and then ''Other Google Account Settings''
#Click ''Security'' on the top bar
#Next to 2-Step Verification click ''Settings''
#If prompted please enter your Google password and click ''Sign In''
#On the 2-Step Verification Settings page click ''App-Specific Passwords''[[File:2StepPage1.png]]
#Click ''Manage Application Specific Passwords''[[File:2StepPage2.png]]
#Enter your password and sign in again
#In the ''Name'' field enter ''CompanionLink'' and click ''Generate Password''

<h3>Changing the Password in CompanionLink</h3>

#Open CompanionLink
#Click on ''Settings''
#Click ''Settings'' again under the section that says ''Sync with Google''
#Enter the generated password into the password field[[File:2StepPage3.png]]
#Click ''OK'' to resume syncing
