How to manually install DejaConnect adb driver

  1. Log into Windows as an administrator.
  2. Connect your Android device to your PC.
  3. Download this file to your computer: universal_adb_driver.zip
  4. Once saved, extract the file contents:
    • Right click on universal_adb_driver.zip
    • Choose Extract All...
    • Choose Browse... and select a location that's easy to find like your Desktop.
  5. Inside the extracted folder, double-click the file "makeini.bat" (or just "makeini", if file extensions are hidden).
  6. Open Windows Device Manager:
    • Right-click your Computer icon (or My Computer) and choose Manage.
    • In the Computer Management window, click Device Manager in the left window pane.
  7. Locate your Android device in the list. It should display with a yellow warning, indicating that its driver is not installed:

  8. Update the driver for your device:
    • Right-click your device and choose Properties.
    • Go to the Driver tab.
    • Click Update Driver...
    • Select Browse my computer for driver software
    • Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    • Click Have Disk...
    • Click Browse...
    • Browse to the universal_adb_driver folder that you extracted in step 4.
    • Select the android_winusb.inf file and click Open.
    • Click Next, then follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  9. Disconnect and reconnect your Android device. Windows should automatically detect and load the driver.
