Below are the steps to perform low level database maintenance on ACT! 2005+

Here are the ACT! Database Maintenance Procedures, as written by ACT! support from Sage Software. IMPORTANT: Please create a backup of your database prior to following these instructions.

Repair Database:

  1. Ensure that the ACT! program is closed.
  2. Click the Windows Start button, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears.
  3. In the Open field, enter either actdiag (ACT! 2007+), act8diag (ACT! 2006) or act7diag (ACT! 2005), and then click OK. The ACT! Diagnostics utility launches.
  4. Click the Databases button from the navigation bar. A list of your databases appears.
  5. Click the rectangle on the left side of the DATABASE name to select the entire row displaying the database information.
  6. Right click the database listing and from the pop-up menu, choose Repair Database. The Repair Database dialog box appears.
  7. Click Yes to proceed with the repair process. The Repair Database dialog box appears.
  8. Click OK.
