Google Calendar v3 API - Outage affecting Google Calendar Sync - June 2020

Starting on 6/15/20 Google Calendar Sync is experiencing issues due to a sporadic outage on the Google Calendar API v3. Until the outage is resolved, we recommend disabling the CompanionLink Auto Sync to prevent issues. This maybe related to some larger issues as noted in the following Article, Click Here for more details.

If you are receiving a "Synchronization did not finish" error with Google sync. This is related to the current issue.

  • Status: As of 6/16/20 at 5:15 PM PST We think Google has resolved the issue. Please try synchronizing again.


If this problem has introduce duplicates, see the article below.

Disable Auto Sync


CompanionLink version 8 and 9:

  1. Open CompanionLink, select Setting on the left, Advanced in the bottom left and find the Advanced Settings tab at the top.
  2. Change the Auto Sync option to "Manual.


CompanionLink version 7 and lower:

  1. Open CompanionLink, select Setting on the left, Advanced in the bottom left and find the Auto Synchronization tab at the top.
  2. Change the Auto Sync option to "Manual.



Removing Duplicates

The issue with Google's Calendar API v3 is causing an internal "Storage Quota Exceeded" error. This does not allow CompanionLink to get the full records list and is resulting in some calendar duplication.
