Yes, absolutely. Go to Settings > Applications. You can select 1-way or 2-way sync for each Data Type (Contacts, Calendar, etc).

CompanionLink will continue to work because we are using Google’s official Contact and Calendar APIs. The change to cease functionality that Google may be implementing is for their product only.
