I am a newbie to the win7 phone and a longtime outlook (not exchange) user.

Trying to find an effective way to synchronize Outlook to the phone has been a, er, “journey”

I gave up on Windows Live; I was unable to find contact, calendar and task sync other than via Exchange.

I turned to Google, who are similarly Exchange and domain oriented solutions. I did find their standalone calendar sync, and a third party contact sync but I was unable to sync tasks.

I found and installed CompanionLink and got the whole sync-thing working for eight email accounts from end to end, in both directions without a hitch in less than a hour.

It should be syncing both ways. The first thing I’d suggest is checking the Applications tab in the Advanced Settings to ensure two-way sync is enabled (see: http://www.companionlink.com/support/kb/Advanced_Settings_Tabs#Applications).

If that doesn’t work, let me know and we’ll go from there!
