Performing a Reread

When performing a quick sync CompanionLink locates any updates and sync accordingly. At times an update may not register properly and the update will then not sync. If a few items are not syncing you can utilize the Reread capability in CompanionLink to resolve the matter.

Performing a Reread PC Data

If you made changes on the PC and they have not synced to the device, use the following steps to Reread the PC Data. In this example (your database) is Outlook, but CompanionLink will list this feature cosmetically based upon whichever database you are syncing.

  1. Open CompanionLink and click Settings on the left.
  2. Click Advanced in the bottom left.
  3. Find the Applications tab at the top.
  4. Put a check in the Reread box for the selected database in the bottom left.
  5. Return to the main menu of CompanionLink and perform a sync. This sync may take a bit longer than a quick sync as CompanionLink is reading all the records prior to syncing.
  • Please note that rereading is a troubleshooting step. Rereads do not have to be enabled each time in order to sync.

Now perform a sync. This sync may take a bit longer than a quick sync as CompanionLink is reading all the records prior to syncing.

Once the sync has completed the check will be removed.

Performing a Reread Device Data

If you made changes on the Device and they have not synced properly back to the PC database, use the following steps to Reread the Device Data. In this example (Device) is listed as "Android" to reflect the sync target selected. Whatever you have configured CompanionLink to sync to will be reflected here.

Note: Some sync targets such as Google may be considered a "device" depending upon your sync scenario. For instance, if you were configured to sync Microsoft Outlook with Google, Google would be considered the "device".
