Symptom:
Error message: 'An error has occurred in the CompanionLink MFC application. This program will be closed by Windows.'

Explanation:
An MFC error means that something happened that was not anticipated by the program. Generally this means that something that CompanionLink/DoubleLook/DoubleNotes did not expect has occurred. This may be caused by various things, such as checking the version of CompanionLink during a sync, bugs in the software, or bugs in programs our software is trying to access.

Fix:
- Make sure that you are on the current build of our software.
- Make sure that you are not doing anything to interrupt the synchronization (such as opening or closing the CompanionLink program or disconnecting the handheld).
