Invalid keycode

Symptom:
- Registering your program by entering a keycode.
- Error message: 'Invalid keycode'.

Explanation:
There are four different reasons why a keycode may be invalid.
- Entering a keycode for the wrong program (using a DoubleLook keycode for CompanionLink).
- Entering a keycode for the wrong computer ID.
- Entering an evaluation keycode when the evaluation has already been previously extended.
- Entering the keycode for the wrong version of CompanionLink.

Fix:
Evaluation users:
- There is no fix for this error for evaluation users. You may either purchase the program and continue your evaluation for the full return period of 30 days and return it if does not meet your needs, or evaluate the program on a different computer.

Registered users:
1. The most common cause of this is using a keycode for the wrong version of CompanionLink. Keycodes for CompanionLink versions are only good for that version. A keycode for version 1.2 will not work with version 1.3, nor will a version 1.3 code work with version 2.0. (Note: This is not a problem with DoubleLook or DoubleNotes.)
2. Versions of CompanionLink/DoubleLook/DoubleNotes sold by third party vendors (such as Handango) may have their own custom registration code generation. In this case, you would need to contact the vendor for the correct keycode.
3. A keycode is only good with a certain computer ID. The computer ID is different on each computer. If you change computers, you will need a new keycode to register your software on the new computer.
4. A CompanionLink keycode will only work with the CompanionLink program. If you have both DoubleLook/DoubleNotes and CompanionLink, make sure that you are entering the keycode into the right program.
