How It Works

CompanionLink can be set up to sync your CRM or contact management database with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or Palm Desktop. For example, you can sync ACT! contacts, calendar activities, notes and histories with Microsoft Outlook.

We recommend buying CompanionLink Professional. It has a feature called DoubleLook Mode that does two-way sync transparently and in real-time from your PC's system tray area. Make a change in one database and watch the other magically receive that update without clicking a button.

DoubleLook mode allows your data to sync in realtime. As soon as you make a change in one database, CompanionLink syncs that change across to your other database.

What You Need

  • Both databases installed on your PC
  • CompanionLink Express or Professional (Professional required for real-time sync ⇄)

Getting Started

  • In CompanionLink Setup, select the first dropdown menu ("Select the device you want to sync with...") and choose "No device - Sync with..." and pick one of the PC databases you wish to sync.
  • In the second dropdown menu ("Select your PC or web database..."), select the other database you wish to sync with.
  • Configure other settings to select the appropriate database folders, sync direction, and sync timer (or realtime).
  • Click the sync button to begin synchronization. If real-time sync is enabled, you can simply close CompanionLink (it will minimize to the system tray) and changes will be synced automatically.
