Synchronization Procedures for BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5 users, click here for support and setup information.

If you are updating from an earlier installation of CompanionLink, you will need to follow these instructions after installing CompanionLink.

  1. Exit BlackBerry Desktop Software.
  2. Launch CompanionLink Setup.
  3. Click the BlackBerry Settings button within CompanionLink, then click OK when you see the screen displaying your BlackBerry PIN.
  4. Relaunch BlackBerry Desktop Software.

If done properly, you should see an Add-Ins module on the left. CompanionLink will be listed as an Add-In. Make sure you check the box here to enable it.

Now you can begin synchronization from within the BlackBerry Desktop Software 6. To Sync, select Add-Ins, then click the Sync button in the bottom right corner of the window. Status messages regarding synchronization will be displayed within the BlackBerry Desktop Software, not CompanionLink.

Note: Enabling any of the native BlackBerry sync options within the Blackberry Desktop Software's Organizer module may interfere with CompanionLink. Please ensure that you do not check any options within Organizer.
